Dentistry in Kalkan or surrounding area
« on: April 15, 2014, 11:45:14 AM »
Does anyone have experience of the subject.
My teeth have just decided to disintegrate - fillings falling out etc.  :(
Costs in the UK are prohibitive and I understand that it is far cheaper in Turkey with high standards of care.
I will be in Kalkan for 6 weeks from next week and, whilst I am a complete coward when it comes to dentists, I really need to get something done.  Apart from the practical considerations of eating, it looks dire and I am in danger of breaking mirrors  :-[ [size=78%]. Chris S, for speed check the search facility (the magnifying glass above) as this has been covered a number of times. There are some very satisfied customers out there which I hope will give you some assurance.
Good luck

I've used this dentist a couple of times, with no problem. He's on Kalamar road. http://ikalkan.com/businesslisting.php?id=dentist-cenk-sahin
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

I too have used Cenk on Kalamar Road and have been absolutely delighted with his work. So much so that I am getting some more work done myself next week.  I've had a filling and crown/bridge work completed.  His workmanship is excellent and the price even better.   ;D

I know a number of owners and their families have used Cenk, some for quite extensive work and everyone has been delighted by the workmanship and the price. My own husband has had 2 fillings, his UK dentist said one would have to have a crown and he actually said it was a very good job when he saw it.

Not everyone is delighted.  I think his work is mediocre.  We know at least 3 other people who have had a bad experience and would never go back to him, but we do use him for simple things like cleaning or a simple filling. For serious work we go to a German-trained dentist in Fethiye.

Thanks to everyone (except Cosetta, who torpedoed the consensus  ::) ).  Bearing in mind I have a deep seated fear of dentists, I am now wavering and starting to chicken out ??? .
But thanks to all.

I have a terrible fear of dentists. So much so that I will go years without visiting one, even when I have a problem. Having had a couple of extractions performed by Cenk I was not unhappy with the service but I was not very confident either. So needing some major work done I went to the then, newly opened dentistry department at Esnaf. Hospital in Fethiye.

The dentist was absolutely brilliant with a wonderfully calm and reassuring manner. The equipment is absolutely state of the art. His skills are exceptional. For the first time I can recall in my life, the initial injections were completely painless and all subsequent work was pain free. I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed, a bridge replaced and I have now had 6 implants( i do have terrible teeth) the cost was Less than that charged in Kalkan and the service was exceptional.

It is necessary to book an appointment but you can always get one within 24 hours of phoning.after the initial consultation, the dentist will do everything possible to accommodate your time constraints if you are here on holiday.

On my recommendation, half a dozen other residents I know here have now used him, all have been absolutely delighted. For anybody who is afraid of dentists, he is absolutely perfect.

If you don't have a car when you are here, getting to Fethiye by bus is very simple. There is an hourly service.

Hi Korderkid,
That was a very encouraging post.
Please do you have a name for the dentist in Fethiye.
I think we are rather alike in terms of our approach to dental work.
Thanks,
Chris

Decided to go to Cenk.  Painless and very good in my opinion.  Root canal treatment and new tooth fitted for 750TL.  No complaints.
