Villa location?
« on: January 13, 2010, 12:23:21 PM »
Hi there, I'm booking a villa again for our Summer hols, have stayed in various parts of Kalkan before, the Kalamar road, Kas road and near the old town. This villa called Juniper is apparently in a block of seven just behind and up from the Swan, although I know the Swan I can't place these villas just wondering if anyone is familiar with them. Apparently you can access it from the road behind the Swan but it's not brilliant, presumably because of the state of the road. A better way is to go straight on to the Democrasi Cad, does anyone know of this road I can't place it at all or indeed how to get on to it? Judging by the description it seems central and not far from the Thurs market, just wondering what this particular road is like as the last apartment we rented just up off the Kas road the access road was horrendous, really steep, lethal under foot whatever shoes you wore and even taking it easy getting up there the jeep would skid all over the place. Took the shine off the holiday a little, we don't actually mind the hills as we enjoy walking but because of the road we ended up spending quite a bit on taxis when we went out in the evenings. The owner has given us a good idea where this villa is but I just wondered is anyone else on here has ever stayed in that particular part of town or indeed knows the whereabouts of this block of villas, just curious really  ???. Thanks!!

Hi Clara48,the villa looks like its in the same place as the villa I am looking at booking,If you go onto the EK map, click on hybrid, find the Nur hotel or swan pub, look at the road behind the Swan,Acelya socak, follow this road up until you come to a small group of villas,if you zoom right in you can see what looks like Villa Juniper, you can spot it by the pool shape.  ;D 8)
EFES TIME AGAIN !

I have stayed in that area for the last couple of years..although i don't know the juniper i use the little dirt track at the rear of the swan as a cut through ..it's fine for walking on no problems at all..it's also reached by the little road just after Yali supermarket(bank on corner)..it comes out half way up the hill to the school(road after Omars)opposite the market ;)
People Of Britain.. When your missus asks "Does my bum look big in this? Never say "Dunno your blocking the light."... just sayin ????

We've also used the dirt track behind the Swan when we stayed in apartments up near Emir, but whilst it's absolutely fine and no worse than a lot of tracks in the centre of Kalkan we did end up walking on the "main" roads because my flip flops got wrecked and my feet always looked dusty :(.
Not a good look for a fashionista like me ;D :o
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Many thanks for all the helpful answers regarding villa Jupiter, think I've got more of an idea of the location, certainly handy for the Swan, not too far to walk for a cold Efes if we're feeling particularly lazy ;D. Maybe a bit too near the market for comfort though as I'll have my work cut out keeping my Hubby from sloping off and spending a bomb on the real fakes he can't resist lol! Have to remember to take plenty of pairs of flippin-floppens again, thanks Fiddimax have to give the Aldi ones a try!!

....erm my flippen floppon ruined on the dirt track were a few bob's worth..if you don't mind :P :P :-* They had leather soles, hence they were ruined after a week or so. The free ones from magazines also got ruined, but I was able to throw them away without feeling guilty ::)
The best ones are from Primark...£1!!!

Sorry to interrupt the flippen-floppen debate, meant to mention in my question about the Juniper, I was also told it's near the Elite apartments, so am I still in the right vicinity ???Cheers!

I'm not advertising!! but if you go into EK Accommodation section..listed is "Sun Elite apartment 3"..for location purposes if you click onto the picture of view at the front (4th one) you will see a half built building ..(now it's finished)to the right of that you can see the Emir buildings(yellow with red tiles)the little lane is between the new building and the Emir....To the left of new building is Omars and the large white roof at the bottom of the line of buildings is the Yali Complex(cinar bar/etc )hope that helps! ;)

Cheers Blue Lizard, great link, think we've got our bearings now, we've been to Omars and the Cinar bar before looks like the villa will be quite near the main drag, not too far to stagger home! Thanks again for going the extra mile to be helpful [even with those little legs of yours lol!]
