duty free
« on: September 01, 2011, 12:15:14 PM »
Morning!
Has anyone got the definitive and up to date answer to how much booze and ciggies you can take into Turkey from the UK please?
It seems to fluctuate wildly depending on which website you ask the question!!
Thanks

Found this on the official Glasgow Airport website

Duty Free: Travellers to Turkey do not have to pay duty on the following items: 200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars, or 200g tobacco. Alcohol allowance includes 1 litre or 700ml bottle of wine or spirits. Other allowances include 5 bottles perfume up to 120ml each; gifts to the value of dm500, tea and coffee for personal consumption, jewellery and guns for sporting purposes. Tape recorders, record players and transistor radios have to be declared on arrival. Restricted items include playing cards limited to one pack.

Presume as it's from BAA it should be correct ???

We buy 2 litres each in airport,we just use 2 different boarding cards, then 2 more on plane,in fact sometimes 4 because once youre off the plane its straight to your taxi/transfer. (not all for us i hasten to add).
