This is my first time on here since joining last year, but felt I had to say something when I saw your post! I can definitely say there is absolutely no need to worry about being on your own in Kalkan.

I have been going out mostly on my own for the last year and find it no problem. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming and I feel very safe. Kaya is a good place cos you can sit at the bar and chat and get to know people easily there. If you want a cheap meal and not worry then Ali Baba''s is a no fuss place and you won''t feel uneasy about eating alone. Same with Flower Tomato, Mehmet the owner is really friendly and quite a funny guy, he usually sits and chats and will introduce you to people.

I find if you return a few times to a place then they are more than happy to help you socialise. Same thing with some of the shops. So don''t worry just enjoy  :D
