Dont want to worry you chappies. I booked with Thomas Cook for September, Their CEO Manny Fontenla-Novoa was booted out yesterday as they are in a lot of debt, Their financial liabilities predicted to be at £1.4bn by December.
I hope they can at least hang on till the end of October

Gosh I hope not we have just re booked our August flights with them costing us a lot more than we paid to Aegean - also lost our flights for next year from Aegean so need to scout around for them too now - you just wonder who to book with now!!

In the financial media reporting on TC yesterday they said they were at pains to highlight that the situation with TC was not due to solvency issues whatsoever and stressed thar they were financially secure.

Heard it all before - "we are financially secure etc, etc" of course they are, still taking our money up to the last five seconds!  It is us poor (literally") saps that are sucked in by "promises" that are never fulfilled.  I speak as an XL "victim".  Anyone want to start a "Magic Bus" journey overland to Kalkan? We might make a fortune before WE go bust, but at least we will have the satisfaction that we have fleeced thousands of pounds out of our customers hard earned money, with no thought to destroyed dreams and financial hardship.   As a business owner, I agree times are hard, but this is beyond the pale

I feel terribly sad for everyone who was due to fly out this week with a package deal or flights because it will be incredibly difficult for them to replace their deal at a similar price...worse for those on a budget as it often takes weeks for the original money to be returned and therefore it will sadly mean no holiday in August for some
I hope all those who are out in Turkey will be able to get home ok.
We stopped using Aegean/H4U a good few years ago after the landing incident at Manchester

I had flights booked for 4 of us with Aegean in September/October, and, paid using a credit card and had to pay £2.50 each for ATOL protection.
On the Atol claim form it states that I must reclaim from my credit card company under section 75.
However, on their site it says this; "Customers, who booked just flights with Holidays 4 U are also ATOL protected and may be eligible to claim a refund."
So, why do I have no choice but to pay for ATOL protection that I can't take advantage of? If indeed it is an advantage, I've heard that some people are still awaiting their Goldtrail payout from a year ago!
