Late Departure
« on: August 13, 2019, 05:05:04 PM »
We are coming to Kalkan in September.  We will have to vacate our Villa at 11.00 am but our transfer to Dalaman Airport is not until 19.00.  We are staying in the Kalamar Bay area and are looking for somewhere to store our luggage and use facilities prior to leaving.  I have read various recommendations on facebook but it would appear that many of the local hotels are now charging a fee on top of expenses incurred for eating and drinking.  These vary from £80+.  Any recommendations for a 6 adults?

Hi Kazilla

There's a few options available. Usually the villa owners will store luggage for you to collect later but is this isn't a possibility you could book just one night or day rate for a room in the cheapest hotel you can find, maybe start looking now. I know people on FOK rave on about the Elixir but we had a bad experience there due to them trying to charge us for our girls to wait for us while we spent a good part of £100.00 on a massage there. So personally I wouldn't recommend.

We've had lovely days at the Asfiya, no charge to use facilities but obvs need to buy lunch drinks etc. We've never asked for a room though. Just gone during the day.
Indigo beach club could be another option as they have changing facilities, also you could consider a boat trip and take your airport clothes to change into? Limited space but they do have toilet and washing facilities I suppose. I think Indigo can also store your luggage too and have showers/changing rooms.

I've also heard that the Kelebek hotel is reasonable to a day room rate but not personally had experience.

Hope you get sorted.

You could look at the Samira Resort up the hill above the D400. They charge £30 for a room for the day.

Sounds like an entrepreneurial opportunity for someone to provide short term luggage storage... >:D

Your transfer company may be willing to pick up your luggage from your accommodation and look after it until they then pick you up wherever you've spent the day. Indigo beach club have showers where you could change for the return journey. You might have to be down there earlier than 11 to get sunbeds though.
