The Feds covered this topic last year but I thought I''''d post the latest government information regarding this.

An ''''A'''' category standard motorcycle licence is required to hire motorcycles over 50cc in Turkey.
(Meaning you must have passed a UK Motorcycle test)

An ''''A1'''' category ''''light motorcycle'''' driving licence is only suitable for motorcycles below 50cc.

If you have a car licence.
If you obtained your full car licence before 1 February 2001 you are automatically entitled to ride a moped

It is against the law not to wear a helmet.

Contravention of the above could result in a heavy fine.

A1 licences and A2 are different. If you have an A1 licence in the UK they are valid for use in Turkey. I have been through traffic stops here and an A1 licence has been ok for <125cc.
