The future of holidays to Kalkan
« on: September 24, 2018, 05:54:27 PM »
Are you looking for your perfect holiday to Kalkan?

Did you know you could be paying too much for your holiday? Some property rental websites such as HomeAway, Tripadvisor, Owners Direct and others are now charging YOU the guest up to 10% of your rental fee just for using their website? Check your booking for the "Service Fee". This does not go to the property owner. It is an additional fee that you should not be paying.

Did you know many sites now prevent owners and guests having open conversations with each other with all conversation restricted through their website. Just think of all the valuable local information the property owner could share with you to create your perfect holiday. We dont think that is fair and that is why we believe you should deal directly with the owners of the property, the people who know the most about it, the people who furnished it and care for it, not a middle man.

Are you a property owner?

Feeling like you have lost control and your property has turned into a small part of someone elses big business? Tired of waiting for your deposit money even though your guest has already paid in full? Frustrated that you cannot offer your guests the personal service you wish to because communication is limited via a website?

We don't think that is fair and we shall shortly be launching a new way of Enjoying Kalkan, with no commissions, no booking fees and no annual charges.

11 years ago we launched EnjoyKalkan as a forum to share free advice, an open communications platform to discuss Kalkan with others, exchange tips, holiday reports and photos.

That is why we are now re-investing in our platform, going back to our core values of freedom and fairness and shall shortly be launching a whole new platform for both holiday makers and owners.

If you are an owner interested in listing your property with us please reply to this thread and we shall be in touch.

John, this sounds like a great Idea. But did you know there is already a direct-to-owner website that started this year, specialising in Kalkan? No hidden fees and the guests speak direct to the owner. There's a monthly fee for the owners to join but most of this goes to promoting the website... far more exposure than the owners could get themselves.

Hi Martyn. Yes I saw that site which I believe is part of Kalkan Secrets. I’m sure there will be room for more especially as this will be a zero price offering for both the guests and property owners.

Wow. This is like EK just woke up from a long sleep. It’s great. Sure wish I could be looking at cctv like before. Got 2 more holidays to go this year. Can’t wait to return to kalkan next year. Wish I was in Baharat right now.

Yes, I would be interested to hear more too.   Interestingly I discovered I had one or two very near neighbours in Kalkan looking at links to their property on the Forum in the past, e.g. Bob and Jayne and Sezkalkan are within waving distance.   Even if they are now there when I am it is good to walk by their places.   Great to see Bob and Jayne in June but they were not around when I was out this month.

I have met one or two others in Kalkan through this site.   One of these days I will meet up with Cleworthallray.   Hi there if you are reading this.

We’re interested. Always prefer to deal direct with the owner. Then they become friends. Hope you had a great holiday tortoise lady. We missed each other by just a handful of hours. Lol.
