Who are kapsa?
« on: September 17, 2009, 04:59:05 PM »
Following on from the cats and dogs thread, which certainly is an emotive issue, who are the members of kapsa? How many of you are there? Are you English? do you live in kalkan permanently or just visit?
  Who are you?

A small group of volunteers living in Kalkan, it says.  Those that I have met are Brits.  I am sure that they would be delighted if you contacted them and were perhaps able to help in some way.

Kim,
KAPSA have their own website and Eniste kindly provided you with the link to their site.
Perhaps that might be a good starting point if you want to know more about them and the work that they do.

just had a look at the website and there is a "contact us" section which I think could be used for anyone wanting to find out more information than that available via the website.

Hi Kim 21,
It's always nice when we get new people interested in what we do. And it's great when people like Hannah Smith get involved in such a hands on way. EniÅŸte, don't worry the traps we use to catch the more feral cats are quite safe for them and for us. Maybe you should try it, it's quite therapeutic you know and very rewarding.
I don't want to bore everyone by saying anymore about Kapsa but Kim if you would care to go to the link: http://www.enjoykalkan.com/forum/index.php?topic=4033.0 KAPSA FAQs I think most of your questions will be answered, If not please feel free to PM me.

Kim21 with you being a resident of Kalkan I'm surprised you don't know about KAPSA or know any of the volunteers involved in the excellent work they do.

Hi saskia,
Unfortunately the 'contact us' section of your  website I seem to be unable to open,
What happens if I become a member?

No I don't know any of the volunteers, that's one of the things I was asking

Re post by Kim.   Whilst there is a marvellous band of volunteer members of Kapsa in Kalkan, us mere visitors also do whatever we can to help.  My colleague and I have just visited Kalkan, we had more in our cases for the animals than we had clothes!   I brought over veterinary supplies and cat food, and my companion dried dog and cat food.  She also takes photographs in England, makes them into greetings cards, sends them to Kapsa to sell.   Every little bit helps.l

Not sure of the exact numbers at the moment but I believe we have about 60 members, the majority of which are Turkish... if you would like further information and become an active member, then please contact us

 hi kk,
I think it must be the firewall or somesuch security setting on my computer that's not allowing me to open the 'contact us' section on your website. the computer simply won't run the program

Hi Kim
I've got the same problem. Automatically links to outlook express which I don't use. Simply copy and paste contact details onto your e-mail and should work

Thanks saskia I eventually found the numbers at the bottom of the page, sorry not a patient reader!
tried to pm you but that also is not working
Now there is a section for kapsa on this website, essential things like contacting you should now be a lot easier.
 thanks again
