Our 1st property in Kalkan

Hi Everyone,

On our 1st holiday in Kalkan (October 2014) we bought a property! Crazy as it sounds we fell in love with the area and put an offer on a flat in a new development located between Rhapsody Hotel and the town centre. Lovely duplex apartment with some sea view and its own private swimming pool! It's ready now and we'll be going to Kalkan at the end of the month to stay there for the 1st time

Congratulations and enjoy your new apartment,we also purchased our apartment in october but it took us 4 holidays to do it.

We did the same as you ..we went on holiday and brought the apartment next door to the one we stayed in. Never regretted it, best thing we ever did. We love the time we spend out there people are so warm & friendly..

Thank you all for your comments and replies. This is all new to us but a good friend of ours has a few properties in Kalkan and advised us a good solicitor so we feel confident about our decision. We know very little about the holiday rental market in Kalkan and for now we have put the property up for rental in the Summer with an agency. I guess it's a learning curve..we still trying to deal with basic things like internet and tv!

Hi Luis and Jo,

We also visited Kalkan for the first time in July. It captivated both of us. I thought we had taken enough spending money with us. How wrong could I be! We also ended up buying a duplex apartment called Hanimeli. The views are amazing from the roof terrace, we just had to have it.

We share your excitement and looking forward to going for the second time early May.

We should meet for a few beers and swop our limited knowledge of how everything works :-)

congratulations! Fiona and I did the same thing 10 years ago and have never looked back...now, 5 apartment purchases later, we live here part of the year and rent a villa full time  to live in,  because the apartments we own rent out so well in the summer! Happy to meet up with you if there is anything you want to know.

Yes congratulations Luis and Jo, it is so exciting isn't it to own a place in such a beautiful place, we did the same as lots of people on here, but only 4 years ago, and as everyone says have never looked back, just need to spend more time in Kalkan now! and hopefully that day is getting nearer for us.
