Beach clubs
« on: July 11, 2011, 09:33:22 PM »
As a Kalkan regular I ought to know the answer but my own question but.........
how much does it cost for a bed etc at Kalamar and Palm Beach? I've trawled the search but can only find old posts.
My daughter is going out in a couple of weeks without us and is trying to work out her budget!

thanks in anticipation

Babs,

From memory prices in 2010 were as follows: Kalamar Bay: 12TL (included cost of a taxi but no discount if you arrived by your own means!); Palm Beach: 10TL; Mahal: 10TL. Kalkan Beach Club at Kisla was free but a little rough at the edges. Our favourite last year was Palm Beach who were very reasonable with prices for drinks and food. Kalamar Bay prices had gone up from the year before and we found in the one visit we made quite expensive. That was last year. Feedback we're are getting from our guests is that Palm Beach is still a very good day out. Hopefully somone can give you the latest - 2011 prices, though above should help with budgeting.

Babs she thinks 11/12 lira.  Had lunch and a few drinks so unsure of the exact price of the sunbed.  When she goes back she will ask and I'll let you know. Also she did not use their transportation service, that's what Dad's are for!

Recommend the Yali Beach Club. Last year the sunbeds were free but you were expected to buy drinks/food there. I think it is the same arrangement this year.

Yes we were at Yali Beach Club this year in June. No cost for admission or sun bed. Deep comfy mattresses made spending a day there very comfortable. Had lunch and drinks for two and were happy with whatever it cost so could not have been too much.

Hope your daughter has a fabulous time.

Palm Beach was 18TL last year for 2 loungers and they'd pay for your taxi home too if you wanted.  I love it there but really need to branch out and try some other beach clubs this September!

Arrived home 2 weeks ago from Kalkan and used the
Yali most days. No charge at all, somedays we ate and drunk there,
others only a couple of drinks. A very friendly place which I
would recommend to anybody.

Babs

From what I heard when we were there 2 weeks ago the Carretta Beach Club boat has stopped people using it to get to Yali I am sure if this is incorrect someone will put us right so the only way there is to walk or taxi but well worth the trip its a lovely beach club, we went to Carretta but found that a bit run down but had a walk to Yali and it was fab we wished we had gone there instead, hope this helps

We walked down from the Regency Hotel but if walking from town you take the dirt track road out past the harbour, always keeping the sea on the left. It is well sign posted and comes before the Carretta beach club. It is a fairly easy walk but I guess it is a lot hotter now than it was for us in early June.

If you are staying out of town on the Kalamar road,go past the Lycia
and there  is a well worn path through the shrubs, takes about
5 minutes from the Lycia, nice exercise before lazing about
doing nothing all day ;D ;D

my daughter is staying just off Kalamar Road....is the Lycia obvious? I can't picture it at all....is it signposted? They are staying at the Lizo is it anywhere near that? We've never stayed that way before and only driven along the road to the Kalamar beach club. Thanks for all your help everyone.

Walking down Kalamar Road (towards Town) with the Lizo behind you, look for a sign on the right hand side of the road for Lykia Residence and Spa.
Turn down here and follow path through shrubs, as Neil22 said.
We stayed at the Yali last September and the beach club is very nice.
Shine on, you crazy diamond.

Indigo Beach club was 20 lira for two, I think it has gone up by 5 lira from last year., I expect help pay for the new decked area which had been destroyed by the storm.
