boat trips
« on: September 25, 2011, 08:47:29 AM »
Hi all

I need some advice please on boat trips. Boat needs to be a quiet one. As there are only the 2 of us, what are our options and do we need to book in advance, going 6 october for a week? Not bothered which day we go. I'd rather wait and see what the forecast is like before booking, but don't want to miss out if we need to book in advance.

Can recommend the Yildiz boats. We book the Yildiz boat with Captain Osman and his wife Zeynap. It only holds 12 people and has no music playing. They do a fabulous mezze lunch and are a lovely couple. They have a website and you book via email.

I agree with Nicky on this one... beautiful boat and beautiful family.

I may be wrong here, but Nicky- me and my boyfriend didn't happen to sail with you on this boat last summer? I haven't been on this forum for a while and i'm afraid i'm slightly out of touch.

If so, I hope your keeping well...

p.s just to jog your memory- it was the first time for me on a boat and I was verrrry sea sick! ha! but enjoyed it all the same

Lucy :)

Agree Yildiz - had a great day out in August and superb food.  Ali's Anil we haven't been because fully booked when we were there but know the family and they are lovely. We also had a great day out on Zeus - he took us to some lovely swimming places, great lunch and we did some fishing on the way back.  (caught a big fish too!!) He is usually on the boat in the evening or if not, in Flamingo Bar (his brother owns the bar).  There were just the four of us on that trip and it was a couple of years ago but I think we paid around £150 for the day. Hope this helps.

The boat prices have gone up considerably this year due to the new tax. We hired Muddy Boat just for ourselves in August and it cost £200 excluding alcohol and we had an amazing time. We've also been with Adem and Osman on Yildiz boats (I'm still in mourning for Yildiz 1... :() and they are fantastic too. We like to pay a bit extra to have the boat to ourselves or share with friends who are here at the same time as us, that way we know we don't have to mind our P's and Q's.....its a long day ;D ;D
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

thanks All forl the advice. As there are only the 2 of us, hiring a whole boat to ourselves isn't really an option, so it looks like the Yildiz is favourite.

Hi T'mint, if memory serves us right it's 80 lira for 2 of us. Apologies if we've quoted you wrong.
Highly recommend them. The lunch is fabulous, especially the cauliflower in yoghurt, one of Antlers favourites i believe as well! Then they give you afternoon tea/ coffee cakes and biscuits, and also fresh fruit.
Have a lovely holiday!( We've just come back from a few days in Harrogate and with the heatwave it felt like we were in Turkey! And of course we packed all the wrong clothes!!)
Nicky.

We paid 45 lira per person on Yildiz in July and well worth every kurus in my opinion.
Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.

I've emailed Osman. Its 40TL. BUT, looking at the weather forecast we might not get to do it.  :(
