Title: KAPSA and Street Cats
Post by: davenottm on August 15, 2012, 05:13:51 PM
Just got back from three wonderful weeks in Kalkan, accompanied on our terrace for most of the time by two very friendly local cats. It was very obvious that both of them had - how can I say it - their assets fully intact  ;D -  Do KAPSA neuter street cats in addition to their excellent work with the street dogs?

Yes they do indeed.  Pity you hadn't thought to contact them when you were there as I'm sure someone from KAPSA would have came along, collected them and then returned them once the op was over.  Two years ago we had one of the local straycats neutered when we were there and it was great that we were able to take care of him afterwards.  KAPSA are always willing to help out and it is easier for them now that they have secured a resident vet in Kalkan.

it would be a bit of a balls up if they didn't!  ::) they do both sexes, males is a very easy and quick procedure.
Keep up the good work KAPSA.

Yes we do neuter/spay street cats as well as dogs. For some years we were having to concentrate on females and would only neuter males if there was a particular problem such as aggression or spraying. The reason for this was purely financial. Using a private vet even at a discounted rate was just too expensive tp neuter all the cats female and male. Now though, with the new clinic opening all veterinary care should be more cost effective so our money will go further, so yes -   we are neutering male cats as well as female.
