Does anyone know what the weather is like at the moment?t as it was wall to wall sunshine last April. I am Sure the Wife lizilu20 will keep you all up to date while we are there, first visit without any of our Children as they are busy with exams and Uni stuff so will be interesting to see what its like as 2 irresponsible adults. ;D

Its lovely weather at the moment, still chilly overnight and early in the mornings but its certainly warmed up recently.
People sitting out at the beach cafe and on the beach today.Must have been at least 20 degrees.
Mixed/changable weather at this time of year though, so anything could happen, wellies and thick jumpers not packed away yet!

I should have been flying out today Lizzie, but had to postpone flight due to my knee op. I'll be out on 15 April though, and look forward to our special Easter Monday lunch in the mountains at Debbie's place. It will be the best food you have ever tasted, and the atmosphere will be rambunctious!

As the advance party you will be expected to update your fellow EK members with up to the minute prices for essentials like booze in various places. I know this will involve the tedious work of drinking in different establishments in order to carry out your mission to the comprehensive and indeed high standards we have come to expect from you.. I wish you God speed on your mission and remember your country needs you 8)
-
;D ;D ;D
I will commence this mission for my country and for my fellow EKers.
I will endeavour to conduct this 'research' with professionalism and candour
And I will indeed report back with prices and establishment quality and ambience, however tedious this task may be.

Blow the professionalism and candour just go for it!

NEWS FLASH
3 Tuborg beers and 2 white wines at Bezirgans - 60TL
What's the exchange rate on the ground?
-
4.45Tl to the £
-
4.45Tl to the £
So assuming the Tuborgs were pints, the round was a couple of quid cheaper than typical U.K. prices. Roll on 1/5!
-
Tuborg was large bottle.
Large Efes in Black & Gold was 11TL last night. Bombay gin and tonic was 23TL. Got 10% discount when bill arrived.
-
That's expensive for the gin, beer price ok, but over £5 for the G&T....... :o
-
You'll pay more for Bombay or any other international spirit. Locally produced alcohol will be cheaper but not always nicer.I would imagine the gin was extra large in B&G compared to the slither you might get in UK for the same price.
-
The local gin was 20TL but in my opinion the Bombay was worth the extra. The gin measure was generous and the location and atmosphere at this time of year made it all great value.
-
An extra 3TL for Bombay is a no-brainer irrespective of the fabulous location and ambience ;D ;D
