For non-facebookers.........
Some FoKs may find this interesting......when it came to booking flights for our May/June holiday I wasn’t prepared to pay the Jet2.com fare at the time so started monitoring with Skyscanner. This is the result for 1xreturn from LBA, out 31/5 back 14/6 no bags
30/12 £374
6/1. £375
13/1. £364
21/1. £364
29/1. £328
5/2. £359
13/2. £338
19/2. £295
262. £279
1/3. £268
6/3. £263
7/3. £259
12/3. £345
13/3. £259
15/3. £253
16/3. £249
17/3. £243
Add £60 for 22kg and about £18 for the cheapest seat.
Quite a range!
Anyhoo........bit the bullet on New Year’s Eve and booked easyJet from Manchester. Slightly different dates giving us a little longer in Kalkan. Paid £283 similar for bag and seat.
So after all that, you pays ya money and takes ya choice!
Onwards and upwards..........

or Not.
Tui, LGW-DLM, 4-20 September 2019, 2px - guess how much?
£1454
And that's before selecting your seats, checked in luggage and all else.
You don't half get it cheap up North! >:D ;D
-
Easyjet flights from Manchester 4/20th Sept under £700 for 2 with luggage and seats Chris. It does have its compensations living up north.
-
pw, I would be interested to know the times of the flights you achieved at such good prices. I don't do well with night flights or ones where you need to be on your way by 3 a.m. to get to the airport and check in. As a result I don't normally achieve flights at a good price.
-
Yes it's an early flight going out 6:55 and 14:05 coming back. Might be worth an over night stay at the airport.

Departs Manchester 7am 30th May and arrives 1.20pm

I tried to book flights on Easyjet for this May half term as soon as they came out - over £1k for two people, no luggage or seats!
Ended up booking the Regency for £1,760 standard room plus breakfast - this includes breakfast, transfers and a day on their boat.
I know accommodation can be cheap in Kalkan and have booked either a villa or apartment for the last 10 years or so, but the flight prices to Turkey are now beyond ridiculous at least in term time anyway.
Roll on retirement only a year away I hope.

At £1454 TUI should stand for Thieves Under Investigation!! >:D :P

Supply and demand.
We came out in October on TUI £80 return and decent times.
-
Well, Supply and Demand may be part of it, but as we have the choice of 4 airports within 2 hours of us so we have a wide choice.
tui invariably come out most expensive, apart from BA Club from Gatwick when the date gets closer. And not by a close margin either.
Currently tui LGW-DKM, 4-20 Sept 19 is £1630 basic for two, it's never been below £1348 since last August (don't ask how I know). If you come back on the 18th, it's a meagre £974. Cheapest is TC at £483 though these flights are between 0200 and 0530.
Taking 5-19 June 19, tui are £810 from LGW and a paltry £614 from LGW, though this was £954 in January. Cheapest is Jet2 at £486.
It's a far from straightforward issue. Though I am convinced they've stoked the prices this year because they reckoned the fears about not being able to go to Europe meant they could charge a Premium for non-EU non-long-haul destinations.
This is indicated by EasyJet LTN-DLM June 2018: £408; 2019: £630 and LTN-DLM September 2018: £373; 2019: £667. Both booked on day of release and never cheaper.
Skegness anyone?

So pleased that we booked our September flights last June. From what I'm reading the current pricing is starting to get quite ridiculous. I appreciate that old fashioned economics comes into play i.e. supply v. demand but, I do wonder whether or not the airlines will live to regret their current pricing strategy..

They may do - if they realise you can go to Florida for less.
Anybody know what Morocco is like? >:D >:D

Update: trending downwards. Today’s price £216..........
