Title: Living in Kalkan
Post by: pnut on April 24, 2019, 07:33:19 PM
Hi everyone.
My husband and I are hoping to take the plunge in the next few years and move to lovely Kalkan.
We are in our fifties and would like / need to work in some capacity, not fussed what. I understand we would need a work permit but is it possible to get one of whilst living in kalkan on a visitor visa - with a view to getting residence?
Is it possible or just a dream ?

Any advice much appreciated   Thank you.

My understanding is work visas  are very difficult to get  unless your spouse  is  Turkish , even then not guaranteed . Penalties for working without a work visa can be quite severe , such as deportation. best to check details on the Turkish Gov site

In a nutshell NO!! But you can do voluntary work - particularly for Kas4Kids - the local charity shop helping disadvantaged local kids - they are need of more volunteers! They would also like help with the admin side. Or there is KAPSA the animal charity. Plenty of voluntary things you can do but you cannot get paid!
