Title: Weather 29th may-12th June
Post by: efc_amy on February 16, 2009, 02:36:35 PM: Two week holiday to Kalkan at the end of may till mid June.
First time to Turkey,how hot will it be?

Enjoy Turkey and Kalkan particularly - you will have a fabbo time!

The sun is at its maximum strength on this day, so a week or two either side of this date it is also still very strong. You should always bear this in mind when sunbathing.
The air temperature gets warmer as the year goes on, simply because the northern hemisphere slowly warms up throughout the summer months, but the suns strength slowly weakens at the same time.

Post by: kalkan4eva on February 17, 2009, 03:22:24 PM: We were in Kalkan for the first two weeks in June last year and whilst the first week was pleasantly hot, the second week was noticeably hotter...to fizzy hair point!!. During the first week, I needed a pashmina to sit out at night, but the following week the evenings were much warmer.
It was like someone had turned the thermostat up halfway through our holiday ;D
You will get a lovely tan if you take care with high SPF lotion during the first week, something marginally lower the following week. The sun is very strong in Turkey.

We where in Kalkan last two weeks in May last year and the weather was warm the first week getting hotter every day. It was reallyhot the last week.

You will love Kalkan.

Where are you staying. We will be at the Meldi?

you are definately choosing the best time, July and August are too hot and im going out one day later than you, 30 May to 13 June. Im also from Bristol and travelling alone, so i will look out for you and your family! I will recognise the accents ! Luckily there is now a Saturday flight otherwise I might have been on the same one as you. Im sure u will enjoy yourself. :D

Hi Amy you will not have a problem finding somewhere to watch the match and you will love Kalkan to bits just as we do now after our 1st visit back in August 2004 and now we go back every year for 3 or 4 weeks at a time. As for the weather while you are there,i`m sure it will be glorious. Lets hope the boys in blue can get your stay in Kalkan off to a winning start.
