I''ve bought a few pairs of off-the-peg trousers from Halil which he shortened at no extra charge and last summer he made a lovely long top for me.  I thought he was just going to do an alteration but it turned out that he made it from scratch so it was perfect for me.  There''s also Tailor Yousef on the same street.

Just think of the savings to be made though Blue Lizard!  You could breeze past Affinity Jewellers, sneak by Vessilo and Brako, oh and forget the tailors en-route....Instead you could organise Effes Stops.  Indeed you could find a new life as the official ''Kalkan Effes Lizard'' helping to re-hydrate the new visitors who arrive (and existing customers of course).

Sorry Mrs Lizard, I didn''t really mean it..............

I am very tempted to have something made up for myself. I have often looked at the "signs" advertising their services. I think there is another tailors up the side of "V and Bs?

Zelma''s opposite what used to be Zeyno''s also has some lovely clothes. Not sure if she makes clothes but I do know she does alterations etc. I bought a beautiful, unusual dress from there for my neices wedding and everyone was asking me where I got it from.

''Zelma'' is actually called Belma and the shop is called Belma''s boutique. She has a wide range of off the peg clothes and will make to order any design, she is very skilled and reasonably priced.

Ooops sorry Lantana and every one else. It is indeed Belma''s. I think the typo occured because I was thinking of Zeyno''s. (If that makes sense!) Good to know Belma makes clothes too. When I went in to look for a dress she picked out my exact size without measuring me. I always pop in to have a browse and say hello.

She is a very nice lady and i have bought beautiful table cloths and wraps fom her.  Everything is very individual and she is very knowleable on how to make good designs.  If you were to go to such a specialist in England or Europe, the costs would be much greater.

I think the quality and sevice Belma offers, are worth every penny.  You need to go in and have a look around at what she can offer.  She will not ''pester'' you or try to ''sell''.  What you will get is the benefit of the individuality and quality of her designs and materials.

Do go.

Couldn''t agree more Kim. It was so nice to go to my neices wedding and not have that "Hope no-one else is wearing the same outfit as me" fear!
I have a couple of dresses that need altering so I will take them to Belma''s.
