Shops in Fethiye
« on: June 05, 2016, 05:56:28 AM »
We are going to Fethiye tomorrow to try and buy some household bits and bobs, mirrors, vases Nic nacks etc but don't know where we are going, can anyone point us in the right direction , all I know of Fethiye is the street which has all the big furniture shops along it. Any info/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is rather more to Fethiye than just one street full of furniture shops,  if you venture further nearer the older part you will find numerous shops selling various items you are looking for depending obviously upon your tastes.

Hi Chrissy it is very hard to explain directions from the furniture shops. We do always drive in and i rely on my better half to get us to the right place.......i am driving but i would get lost otherwise.

I suppose if you are intending to buy lots you have to use a car..........if not,i would get a dolmus in.If in the car, stop periodically and ask directions,if you are lucky to find english speakers.........sorry cant be more helpful but Fethiye is bigger than you think........if you drive, try to avoid market day,ie tuesday.

If you arrive at the bus station, just walk to the roundabout with the shell garage on the corner, just outside the bus station and turn left, keeping the garage on your left and walk down that road, bear right when you get to a fork and eventually you come to the old town, it is quite a walk but you can pick up a dolmus along the road.  However if you are shopping, quite a lot of shops along the way you might be interested in, big homewares shop on the left shortly after the shell garage, wrought iron places selling furniture, etc. If you are driving you tend to arrive at the shell roundabout anyway so just drive along the road, generally plenty of places to park if you spot a shop you want to visit.

For the old town we park in the car park near the harbour, walk along the harbour and the old town is on your left on the other side of the main road.

If you get lost just stop and ask the way, most people all speak English now.

But if you just carry on straight past the furniture shops and keep going straight you will come to all the shops, ask for the vegetable or fish market and you will find everything round that area.
