Hello everyone :) haven''t been keeping up with this site for a while and its been very interesting and entertaining to catch up with all the developments in Kalkan since we were last over. VERY VERY excited to be going back to Kalkan on Monday but gutted to see there''s an EK get-together at our favourite restaurant, Trio, this coming Friday and we''ll be missing it!!  :-[ :-[ Never mind! Hope you all have a great time and there''s enough Efes left for us by the time we get there!!! We will be having our first steak and bottle of Angora of the season on Monday night if anyone''s still there! Hopefully the weather will be kind, as i''ve got a romantic notion of sitting out by the harbour...will be exactly the opposite of the predicted downpours forecast for Cornwall this Bank Holiday! Serefe!

Not sure if I''m being controversial but I really don''t like my glass being topped up constantly.  Don''t get me wrong, I love my wine and can "put it away", but I really object to being topped up every 2 minutes.  I''m far more likely to order another bottle if I''ve had a relaxed dinner, drinking at the speed that I choose.

Mmmm. Know what you mean jinnfizz. We tend to order a bottle of sparkling water with every bottle of wine, especially as the temptation to guzzle a little is stronger when the temperatures are hot. Interestingly, one of our waiters (clearly a newbie) was ''told off'' at our table last summer when he over-filled our glasses....and the Maitre''d insisted that our wine glasses shouldn''t be constantly filled cos white wine in particular warms up quickly when its put in a full glass...and it should be kept on ice in a bucket in the bottle, with only small amounts poured into the wine glass each time! We were told to tell the waiter NOT to keep filling up our glasses....and got quite expert at putting our hands over the glass when he hovered...although it didn''t feel natural....especially when the vino collapso is so good!
