Mobility Scooter
« on: April 09, 2015, 11:59:04 AM »
I am down to have a hip replacement. So walking far is not an option as it hurts - a lot.
So - I have borrowed a portable mobility scooter!!

My question is, have you had the experience of bring one into Kalkan?
What was it like at the UK airport?
What is it like at Dalaman airport going home?
Anything inbetween we will manage!

Hi Wendy,

A friend of ours used to bring his  scooter to Turkey and had no probems. Very helpful at both airports. It was a fold up one and used to go in the hold but there was someone at Dalaman to take him in a wheelchair and wait until his scooter was unloaded.

He did come to Kalkan once with us and we was a bit worried about the  hills but he seemed to cope, only problem he could not manage to get up stairs for the roof top restaurants.

My brother had a hip replacement on the 11th March and came to see me this week, he was fine, much better than when the knee was done. They are off to a caravan holiday next week!!! Now I am not sure how he will  cope then ;D

Thanks Barb.
I can walk for about 50/100 yards before it hurts. I would feel a right fraud in a wheelchair though and be so embarrassed :(
