Owners get your properties checked......leaks & flooding
« on: January 14, 2019, 08:29:25 AM »
This winter so far, is an extremely wet one with rain nearly every day/night. It seems that there is quite a lot of flooding or leaks to unoccupied properties. It may be a good idea for owners to get their maintenance manager to give your places a check over now rather than to leave it to just before you come out next. Although many maintenance companies say they check throughout the winter months this is not sadly always the case. We know of several incidents already, the problems have been noticed by either residents or friends passing by.
So as the forecast is for more heavy rain .......will it ever stop....It may be prudent for a check on your property to avoid any possible disappointments later.

Thank you for the timely warning DRDB.   Kalkan certainly knows how to do rain as well as sun and water has a habit of finding any gaps and can quickly do a lot of damage.   Sounds as if our pool is not going to be re-tiled any time soon..............

Well, at least you did let us know about the bad weather this winter in Kalkan, DRBD.   I understand that the weather continued to be wet and stormy.   We suffered a certain amount of damage during the last big storm, our agents sent photos.

Thanks to your warning at least we know we will not be the only people with damage to property.  It is good to have someone like yourself on the forum, actually living in Kalkan.

Now trusting the weather will be kind enough for the repairs to be carried out in time for the coming season.   Looking forward to our next visit  and hoping the sun will shine and that it will be a good summer.

TL....thankfully weather has been dryer over the last 2 weeks or so but we are still getting plenty of rain & winds. We have been out & about outside the area recently & some locations are still flooded or at least well & truely water logged. Even a fresh fall on the mountains from Kalkan to Fethiye.
Sorry to hear about your damage always a worry but sure it will be fixed soon.
